What is the Climeet Index?

The Climeet Index assigns every finalized event a grade from A to G based on its carbon footprint per participant while rewarding eco-friendly actions through a bonus and penalty system. This score enables you to position your event relative to others while showcasing your sustainable initiatives.

A transparent and rigorous process

1. Based on a wide sample of events:
Derived from a dataset of over 260 finalized real-life events on Climeet, reviewed by our team.

2. Clear and comprehensible ratings:
Using advanced statistical transformations, each score is normalized on an intuitive scale from 0 to 100, then converted into a grade from A to G.

Promoting sustainable practices with a bonus/penalty system

The Climeet Index doesn’t just measure—it rewards and encourages responsibility!

Bonuses: highlighting your efforts

• Vegetarian or vegan meals (+10 points for >80% low-carbon meals).
• Reused materials (+10 points for >90% reuse).

Penalties: encouraging reduced negative impacts

• High-carbon meals (up to -10 points for 100% meat-based meals).
• Excessive single-use materials (up to -10 points for >90% disposable materials).
• Overly carbon-intensive events (up to -10 points for >1000 kgCO₂e per attendee).

Balanced weighting:

The system emphasizes efforts directly controllable by organizers, such as food and materials.
