On September 30 and October 1, Climeet took part in Produrable for the 4th year in a row. We wanted this edition to be a collective one: two shared booths and three workshops. Here's a look back at those two days.
At trade shows, we're often asked the same question: why does CSR still move forward in silos, when climate, biodiversity, responsible purchasing and social impact are so closely linked? This year, rather than answering with a speech, we chose to answer through the very way we organized our presence. And those two days confirmed we made the right choice.
The Climate House Roommates: one booth, four areas of expertise
At booth 2-89, we shared the space with People4Impact, Planet is the Limit and Sustainable Metrics. Four organizations with different specialties: CSR talent, planetary boundaries awareness, climate consulting and event carbon measurement.
This shared booth worked just as we'd hoped. A visitor who came to talk about event carbon footprints left with a contact to train their teams on planetary boundaries. Another, looking for a CSR freelancer, discovered how to measure the impact of their next corporate retreat.
Proof, in short, that no single building block is enough on its own, and that transforming organizations is a team effort.
The Sustainable Events Village: an entire responsible event, all in one place
Another first this year: the Sustainable Events Village (booth 2-132) brought together one leading organization from each line of work. The idea: help organizers put together a fully responsible event from start to finish, without starting from scratch.
Alongside Climeet, the Village featured:
- Weevup, event agency
- Lorient Bretagne Sud Événements, for the region and its venues
- Fleur de Mets, eco-friendly caterer
- Châteauform', specialist in corporate seminars and events
- Groupe Novelty, for audiovisual and stage technology
- Fonction Meuble, event furniture rental
- Green Événements, sustainability consulting and training
- D&P Groupe, for temporary event spaces
Over the two days, the Village also came alive with a full lineup of activities: a chicory coffee welcome every morning, CSR card reading sessions, Low-Carbon Happy Hours, live music performances, and a presentation by Lévénement (Fédération France Événements) of its survey results on the impact of heatwaves on the events industry.
Three workshops to go beyond talk
"Fail to succeed: the 3 fails of CSR transformation"
There's a lot of talk about CSR successes, but rarely about failures. On September 30, we chose to take an unfiltered look at three concrete mistakes: what didn't work, why, and what we learned from it.
- Fail #1: leadership and management that weren't committed enough or ready to invest the necessary resources
- Fail #2: a lack of training and awareness
- Fail #3: technical tools that weren't fit for purpose (too complex, too simple...)
"Alone we innovate, together we transform," with Bpifrance
Co-hosted with Bpifrance, this workshop carried forward the common thread of our presence at the show: cooperation between companies, and between public and private players, accelerates the transition far more than isolated initiatives.
"Zero guilt, 100% fun: 9 ideas for your next events"
On October 1, together with the Village members, we shared nine practical ideas for combining responsible events with attendee enjoyment. Our belief: a low-carbon event doesn't have to be a lesser event.
The Learning Expedition with Green Événements
An exclusive first for this edition: Green Événements took a group of organizers behind the scenes of the show. An introduction by Mylène Netange, Director of Produrable, a tailor-made guided tour, then a debrief based on the organizer's own lessons learned.
Our key takeaways
Above all, these two days taught us one thing: organizers are no longer just looking to understand the issues. They want concrete solutions and reliable partners to take action. Bringing a venue, a caterer, an agency, a technical provider and a measurement tool together in one space shows them that a fully responsible event is already possible.
Thank you to our Climate House roommates, to the members of the Sustainable Events Village, to Bpifrance, to Green Événements and to the entire Produrable team. And thank you to everyone who stopped by, attended a workshop or simply came to chat.
Couldn't make it, or want to keep the conversation going? Drop us a line. We'd love to talk about your upcoming events.
See you next year!
